What is Student Entertainment Events?
Student Entertainment Events (SEE) is a campus organization at the University of Maryland that produces a diverse range of events for the campus community, including concerts, lectures, comedy shows, movies, performing arts shows, and more to foster a sense of community. Being a designer and creating many print/digital graphics allowed me to rapidly improve my design style and workflow, in addition to collaborating with the event programmers. The collaboration process also allowed me to improve in capturing the essence of the event/talent on the poster to entice more students to attend.
Additionally, I supported event setup, security, and cleanup, gaining hands-on experience in the logistics and coordination required for large-scale events. As part of my involvement with the organization, I had the exciting opportunity to meet notable figures such as Jennette McCurdy, Stephanie Beatriz, and BTR, watching Aminé perform backstage, and even drive Olivia O'Brien to her hotel. These experiences provided a unique perspective on event culture and deepened my understanding of how design plays a role in enhancing live experiences.
